INSIGHTS & DATA

Wave launches Ocean Central

Wave has announced the launch of Ocean Central, a digital platform offering a clear, evolving view of ocean health using the best available data, a key tool in navigating towards the goal of Ocean Regeneration within a Human Generation. Ocean Central was unveiled by Wave founder H.R.H. Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud at the eighth edition of the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ocean Central integrates ocean data, science, design, storytelling, and strategy to transform data into accessible insights that empower stakeholders to take action. The online platform aggregates and analyzes data, providing a user-friendly interface that fosters collaboration, empowers decision-makers, and drives global efforts toward ocean regeneration.

Ocean Central by Wave was developed with Ode, a creative content collective dedicated to addressing environmental challenges, and was guided by Wave Chiefs: H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman Al Saud, Alexandra Cousteau, Professor Carlos Duarte and Dr. Ralph Chami.
Wave is powered by FII Institute.

Thanks to advances in technology and data science we are now able to monitor key aspects of ocean health, from biodiversity to coastal preservation. Despite significant strides, critical gaps in ocean data remain. The future of ocean regeneration hinges on filling these gaps with comprehensive, accurate data and actionable insights. Ocean Central seeks to enable this transformation, unifying the information needed for more effective resource allocation and decisive action.
